Bucket's Investigation
(Adobe Photoshop v7)
Tucked behind piles of newspapers, away in a shadowy corner of the junkyard, Bucket and Ted uncovered signs of great concern, instigating the urgent need for an official investigation.
Why had they imprisoned Fill? Was he dirty, or were the signs pointing to the Fill that put him there?
Although the newspapers reported about so many Fills, by late afternoon Bucket and Ted agreed that it didn’t matter what name a person carries, no one deserves to be held unjustly. The government was holding their own investigations, but they were irresponsible for so many years that Bucket and Ted decided their own probe must continue.
I’ve never felt so ashamed to call myself Australian as under the Liberal, John Howard led regime. A 'War on Terrorism' run by a system too disorganised and bureaucratic to be called anything but acts against basic human rights. A country that was founded upon the blood, sweat and tears of immigrants as even our Aboriginal peoples were immigrants at one stage, to judge a person’s validness by their nationality is not only racist, but hypocritical.
After years of locking 'asylum seekers', 'visa defaulters' and 'illegal immigrants' in specially built gaols it has taken the detention of an Australian citizen to open the majority’s eyes to the blatant disregard for human rights. In the last week it has been reported that she was not the only one as they have deported at least one citizen, who is now missing, and detained many more.
The mental abuse caused by detention centres is well recorded. Many detainees have gone to the extreme of sewing their mouths shut to bring attention to their plight. These are not terrorists, but people who need a fair go, something that used to be the Australian society’s motto.
I love my country, and I used to be intensely patriotic to our egalitarian ideals, but how can we be patriotic to something that is now not much more than a fascist society built on lies and false judgement.
Mr Howard and Mr Murdoch and their cronies have a lot to answer to.
